Hard to believe, but there is good news. India has rejected the nationalist govenment of Vajpayee and it looks as if the Congress Party will step back into power (though who will lead is still up in the air). This means that, while there are no guarantees, the nationalist-driven agenda of the BJP that has helped create a pair of nuclear armed states who hate each other will likely go away, and there is the chance for a fresh start and a nuclear de-escalation.
