Baltar asks below "Where have the REAL Republicans gone?". As shocking as it may be to some, one answer is Harvard Law School. It's a turvy-topsy world.

The New York Times today has a story about the lasting changes to US government that might come out of the case, and there was a paragraph that struck me:
"...odd bedfellows. Ralph Nader, the consumer advocate, joined Mr. Smith, the bioethicist, in calling for legal action "'to let Terri Schiavo live.'"
To me that is not odd at all. For some time I have thought that Nader has more in common with the right than the left, as both have the smug self-righteousness that impels them to think they can tell the rest of us what to do.
So, from both the right and the left, the erosion of personal liberty.

I think I speak for most of America when I say that I fear such a coalition setting US policy on anything.
