Not a surprise.

Heinz said: "I'll wait until I feel like I'm ready to do it, because if I ever did it, I wouldn't do it to get out of it."

I'd say if nothing else he needs to polish his speaking skills a bit before he runs. Honestly, I have no idea what that means.

I thought mauling grammar was essential for success in politics these days?

Seriously though, the guy's got fine speaking skills. He can come off as unusually informal. But with his name recognition, money, connections, looks and the general goodwill toward his family - I think he'd be a good candidate for something someday. Though I don't know that I'd wish to put him in the US House. The PA House delegation tends to be less than impressive, and serving in the minority in Congress - why would he bother?

As to what he meant - my translation is that he's interested in politics, but he doesn't want to make it his career until he's ready to focus on it very deeply, and stay in elected office for many years.

i know what he was saying. i was being facetious. yes, he'll be a good candidate at some point, and a strong democrat i'm sure. he should hang back for a little while than try to run directly for the senate.
