Graphing the Rise and Fall of Names

The Pearls and Opals of the world are long gone. The Pauls, Johns and Scotts are becoming rarer. Alexis surged for girls in the 1980's, and Trinity is soaring at the moment. Just today I was thumbing through an issue of Better Homes and Gardens in which a quiet little family garden was profiled. After describing the one acre garden, with a shed with hot and cold running water and electricity in California (quiet, little, huh) there was a picture of the grandmother and granddaughter watering plants. The child's name was Gentry. GENTRY?! What, is she landed or something?
