If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts...

...and you were in control of the Federal Budget, what would you do?

I would declare bankruptcy! Since the total debt American's have accrued (both public and private) is more than $40,000,000,000,000, isn't really just a matter of time anyway?

Seriously, it really is just a matter of time. WARNING: Nation in decline and guess who's driving!

This is an interesting site. And it clearly shows that ANY attempts to combat the deficit in a serious way will be politically painful - and sadly, for those of us who'll be burdened with the debt and interest for many years to come, the GOP (the party that put us in this position) is far too interested in winning elections in as craven a way as necessary to actually think hard about the costs and hard choices required to govern effectively.

Since it will be politically painful, as u said Armand, it probably wont happen. I realize i say this when I don't have to pay taxes, but still. And I am kind of an army guy, interested in that kind of stuff. But that budget thing is really cool.
