How Justice Scalia Interprets the Commerce Clause

I used to really like Publius. Now I really *LIKE* Publius. I doubt I read another post this funny (in a crying multiple types of tears kind of way) this week - hell, maybe not for the rest of January.

Wow, even someone like me who knows fuck all about any of it was rolling on the floor. This is the best:

For instance, Justice Scalia dislikes many things – hippies, long-haired hippies, hippies with beards, long-haired hippies wearing sandals, the homosexual agenda, assisted-physician suicide, Will & Grace, long-haired bearded hippies wearing sandals, long-haired hippies wearing sandals and burning flags, the Florida Supreme Court, Justice Kennedy, Satan, the New Deal, and the equal protection clause.

On the other hand, Justice Scalia likes many things – police, police arresting hippies, laws criminalizing drug possession, laws criminalizing drug possession by hippies, duck hunting, barbeque, John Ashcroft, Jesus, and the equal protection clause in the context of presidential elections.

Given that the hippies stuff really is classic (and quite possibly a pretty accurate interpretation of how Scalia reads some of these things) you'd think there might have been some reference in this to Law Clerk Eric Cartman or Justice Kennedy (b/c while AMK might well indeed belong on Scalia's "hate" list, several analysts/observors have noted that AMK also appears to have a deep-seated animosity against drug-using hippies).
