Further Evidence that Condi's Inept or a Huge Liar (so, from the Files of Duh)

I mean if neither I nor my graduate students is that suprised, we are in a seriously fucked-up mess if our Secretary of State was taken by surprise by HAMAS's victory. Sadly (for the lives and interests of Americans), it's not the first time. Take it away Larry Johnson.

Y'know, it's one thing to be surprised. It's another thing entirely to admit to that surprise in public.

Well I think you are on to something there - something that suggests these weren't necessarily "surprises" at all. It's entirely possible that the administration knows that presenting these events in this way is the optimal tactic they can use to be sure they don't lose face or are held responsible for these events.

yeah, i continue to believe that considering this administration stupid or crazy is a very dangerous approach. crazy like foxes, more like, and stupid like, well, dubya. they knew, they just think it adventitious to act like they didn't.
