Stupid, mean, and ultimately useless.
And you know what? I'll be it's going to back fire on the university from parents who are pissed that instead of protecting kids from campus crime problems like theft and rape, they're fucking up their kids access to student loans and future employment.

The whole scarlet letter thing with the supposed public shaming with pictures on websites is just ridiculous. It's not going to stop kids from smoking, it might drive some out of school, it'll piss off parents, and it shows the kops to be some kind of ... well, I was going to say Barney Fifes but I like Barney.
