There Simply Are No Words for John Derbyshire

Ladies and gentleman, I bring you a man with a regular publication outlet in one of the best known conservative media outlets in the country. He's a severely messed-up man, with all sorts of purient sexual obsessions. That's been clear for ages. But this - what's left to say? And how in the hell does he keep getting published? I'm wondering if there's a special ring in the hell these people hope exists for Ms. Malkin, Ms. Flanagan and Mr. Derbyshire.

It's the same ring of hell that awaits Michael Moore, Oliver Willis, and the more rabid Kossacks. You can imagine what fun that'll be. :-)

Hmmm - I think that's a different ring of hell. My problem with Flanagan and Derbyshire (and sometimes Malkin) is their love for reactionary policies that will take us back into some mythical paradise that only ever existed in their minds. And when you consider how twisted their minds seem to be at times (particularly the role for women these people see, and their truly bizarre takes on sexuality) - well, these seem to be people who are pretty messed up and preach a politics that will lead to the suppression (and possible nasty twisting) of masses of people.

I never read Willis. My big problem with Moore is that he's simply a tiresome egomaniac. I mean all that early work of his captured what he does to a tee in that it's so focused on HIM exposing bad things and HIM cofronting bad people. He needs to get over himself b/c he's got some talent (though that tendency of his can ruin even his best expose, or supposed expose, work - as we saw in that pathetic exchange with Ben Hur that had no business being in that film).
