Turkey Bombs Kurdish Bases in Northern Iraq

I think this could be said of lots and lots of things happening in Iraq right now - but really, how in the hell is this not bigger news? Has any US tv news network covered it?

The phrase "reports of a joint Turkish-Iranian operation" just resonates so beautifully right now, in a beauty-in-utter-chaos-can-this-Administration-be-any-closer-to-losing-its-last-vestiges-of-a-grip kind of way.

'In an interview with the Iraq-based Kurdish language newspaper, Khabat, the PKK number two, Murad Qaraylan, said the "willingness of the party to interrupt hostilities with Turkey and resolve the Kurdish question in that country by negotiations and political dialogue as of 1 September, International Peace Day."'

That's not a sentence, is it?

Are we really so surprised? They view the Kurds much like Israel much like we view the Sunnis and Iranians. Or is it the Shiites. regardless, they learned it from us, and although we've never hesitated to deny other countries what we permit ourselves, they can colorably resist any opprobrium we might hurl their way.
