Irrational dogma, sure. Stupidity maybe, though I'd probably be inclined to call it "delusion" instead. But lies?

Just because they're caught in the memeweb of a pernicious mind-control cult doesn't necessarily make them liars. [They're victims! They need a government program! -ed Shhhh! I suspect Binky will tell you that they have enough of those already...]

So, he isn't lying when he says that someone is pregnant as soon as they have sex? Even when shown all the scientific evidence? Even when he tries to obscure the truth? You really think he doesn't know better? That he really believes someone can be pregnant before the sperm meets the egg (not even bringing up the implantation issue)?

I think I've got this one figured out. They believe that you get what you deserve, period, and that if you get something bad and keep plugging away like Job, you're somehow better than the person who says "fuck this place, fuck these people, and quite specifically, fuck you; I'm going to Florida and becoming a beachcomber" - even if it happens to be the only sane reaction. They believe that no matter what happens, it's not gawd's fault, ever. They also believe that if something good happens, it's all because of gawd..

So, to them, the only choice we have in life as far as doing something good that we MIGHT be able to take a little credit for is the decision to have babies.

Am I missing something here?
