Where Are the Schiavo Ads?
Am I the only one surprised that that Schiavo controversy hasn't been used by more Democrats in this year's elections? Apart from Hurricane Katrina I'd be hard pressed to think of a controverys that got people more riled up and got them more riled up on the side of the Democrats. And yet to my knowledge it's only been brought up in a handful of ads across the country. Isn't that surprising - especially since (unlike Katrina) many House Republicans actually have votes they have to explain on the issue?

The Michael J. Fox ad was the number one viewed video on YouTube yesterday.
Great - it's a great ad. But that's not exactly the same thing. Schiavo hit a much broader array of topics tied not merely to scientific research, but to big government intrusions into private family matters on behalf of an ideology that's not very popular nationwide. I think it smacking the GOP across the face on the whole anti-respect for families, anti-private choices side of the whole thing would present the Dems with many kinds of possibilities to win support.
