The Raconteurs Steady as she goes owes more than just a wee debt to Joe Jackson.

Argh - foiled yet again by the breadth of your music knowledge. Why? B/c I don't really remember who Joe Jackson is at all ... but if "Steady as she goes" is lifted from him, I should search around b/c I love that song.

Even though YouTube is now evil (apparently) you can watch Joe Jackson here. He is better remembered by people of our age for his more mellow Steppin Out.

Oh yeah, I know (and kinda like in an 80's way) both of those songs. And yeah - I get your point about "Steady as She Goes".

So I was driving around today and listening to the radio - and I've got to say, even if it is unoriginal, "Steady as She Goes" gets my vote as one of the best (or at least catchiest) songs of the year.
