A&M beat Texas this afternoon - the first time they'd won that traditional game this millenium. What's more, Texas losing means that if favored Oklahoma defeats Oklahoma State, Texas won't even make it to the Big XII championship game. I don't know exactly what kind of an effect this will have on the BCS - but I'd have to think it's taken Texas out of contention for one of those big bowl invitations.

Well, what I'm thinking is this, if the 1-2 game is Ohio St. and USC, at this point the teams with an inside-track to the other 4 BCS bowls would seem (to me) to be: Louisville, the SEC champion, Michigan, Notre Dame, the Big XII winner, and the ACC winner (presumably Georgia Tech), probably Boise St. (though of course they could still got knocked out by Nevada), and a 1-loss WVU team. And of course there will be multiple 2-loss SEC teams. Can a 9-3 Texas team displace one of those?
