The Freeze Miser Must Be Wildly Happy

At the moment, well the phrase FUCKING COLD doesn't even begin to describe how it feels at the moment. And I hear it's not going to be this (ahem) warm (ahem) again until ... Wednesday? Oy. How exactly are we supposed to live through that? Guess I'll learn - but I don't think that's a new experience I'll be happy to experience.

The National Weather Service urges us not to go outside, due to the risk of frostbite and hypothermia. Not that the university would listen and say, cancel classes so that the children won't have to stand on the cold cold PRT platform with 2 degress and -20 windchill in the morning.

So those of us who walk to work ... shouldn't go outside. Hmmm. That could present a problem.

Yup. If you aren't teaching, I'd stay home. And for those who are teaching, I bet attendance will be extremely limited.

What the hell? It's only supposed to be 9 tomorrow. Put an extra layer on or something. At single digits I'll start to admit it's cold: I don't start worrying until we hit negative numbers.

Oh fine, Mr. "I Love it When It's 30 Below And You Can Hear Sap Freezing In The Trees." Mock the pain of your native southern co-bloggers. If we get frostbite and can't type, you're the one who is going to have to carry the blogging weight around here. Better start boning up on your obscure movies and reproductive rights, Mr. Vermonter.

I much prefer the Heat Miser song myself - especially when Duncan Kane is singing that tune on one of the best episodes of Veronica Mars (SUCH a good episode ... and, ahhhh, Duncan ...).

I got a ride to school in the Touareg this morning. When I stepped out of it it said the temperature was 3. 3!
