And Heaven & Hell!

Oooh, Bill DOnohue probably thinks that's blasphemy. Better watch out.

And, they aren't on that Bonnaroo line up.

I don't know who Bill Donohue is, so he can go screw. :-)

I'm just amused that Black Sabbath (c. 1981) is going on tour, followed early next year by Black Sabbath (c. 1970). Baltar will scream epithets at me, but I may just have to go, having never seen Tony Iommi live.

Oh, Catholic Bill. Never mind. But he can still go screw.

Fuckin' LAME Black Sabbath? You're going to go see Dio's Sabbath? Isn't the entire fucking band in the fucking AARP? Shit.

(Just doing what you asked.)

You live in (or near) Boston. Go see Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, All That Remains, or Cave In, all of which claim Boston/New England as a home base.

Just read the actual post (noticed the "Flaming Lips" in there, and understood why it was there, but that's irrelevant).

Didn't the damn String Cheese Incident break up and stop inflicting themselves upon us? Or was I just imagining that?

Yeah, I wondered about that too. You know my feelings about the SCI (hurl, gag, barf, etc). The overall list is good, and it's not all patchouli parade either. Brazilian Girls? GIrl Talk? Roots? Hold Steady?

Yeah, I thought about mocking it by trying to count the very small number of bands I actually wanted to see, but the list quickly grew to the point where that wasn't going to work. A very interesting list.

Dude, if I go it'll be to see Iommi, who I've never seen live, who is apparently playing extremely well these days, and who will probably throw in the towel and go play golf once Ozzy drops dead, which could be any minute now.

Ah ha!!! If Iommi will throw in the towel when Ozzy retires, then why is he willing to tour with someone who isn't Ozzy?

There are worse people to see than Iommi. I am, however, not much impressed with the musical output of the Dio-era Sabbath. I liked "The Mob Rules", but pretty much nothing else.

Because Ozzy apparently isn't available for a Sabbath tour until next year, and he and Geezer Butler wanted to Do Something in the meanwhile?

(There is talk of a new Sabbath-with-Ozzy album, too. Like in the studio and stuff. Scary, that.)
