I have to agree with Mark Kleiman here. Why on Earth would someone confirm Mukasey, given what we know so far?
Posted by armand at October 19, 2007 01:00 PM | TrackBack | Posted to PoliticsSo according to TPM Pat Leahy has said that his vote depends on getting a straight answer from Mukasey on whether or not waterboarding = torture, and reports are that the AG nominee might not get 10 votes in the committee unless he answers that question. Are the Democrats really going to stand firm on this? If so a) wow and b) good for them.
