Fred Thompson Takes on Fox News

Nice. I'm not a Thompson fan, but I admire that he has the guts to go on Fox News and call them out on their coverage (which, yes, certainly seems to be biased in favor of Giuliani and against Thompson).

Yah, Fox News sucks. They started out as a promising alternative and then turned into a scandal rag with led by hacks like (to use Michael Savage's nicknames) the Wall Banger and the Leprechaun. They're coming out of a lazy ideological place by supporting the charismatic Rudy, a place that led to corruption and the Republicans losing Congress last year. Anyone who votes for gun control like New York's isn't fit to call himself a conservative.

Well they've never (to my knowledge) been conservative, they've simply been a certain strain of Republican. And given that Giuliani fits with that fine, and that he and Ailes are BFFs ... well what's happening is rather predictable.

Fox news prefers liberal candidates just like the other drive-bys do. Only difference is that Fox likes Republican liberals, while the rest tend to br partial to Democrat liberals.

Lots of CNN isn't partial to Democrats. I mean who do they have on? Glen Beck, Nancy Grace, Larry King, Lou Dobbs, Bill Schneider, Candy Crowley - none of them are pro-Democratic, even if perhaps Anderson Cooper is (and I don't know that he is, but he's not as anti-Democrats as the names I just listed; or as apolitical as Larry King). And on NBC Brian Williams certainly isn't Democrat-friendly. I don't know about ABC or CBS as I haven't watched their nightly news in years.

And I don't really think that Fox News is pro-liberal. I think they are so pro-Republican and pro-the Fox News brand that they aren't clearly ideological. Now they are in favor of the kinds of politics that fit with their style (pro-business, where Fox News = business; and pro-abrasiveness and "toughness"), but I don't think that's a clear political ideology - at least not in terms of how that term is usually used.

It also seems like we're talking about liberals and Liberals here.
