The Screening Room's Top Ten Songs in Movies

I don't know what I'd say the Top 10 are, but this list features some I imagine a fair number of people would agree with. I think the listings of Needle in the Hay and Waterloo are great choices.

As much as I hate any movie song category that disqualifies both Howard the Duck and Goonies Are Good Enough, they make some pretty good calls. I'd have to throw in Dangerzone by Kenny Loggins, at that time.

I wonder what would make the top ten scenes enhanced by a movie score, if some of those are better than some songs. For instance, Thus Spoke Zarathustra in 2001 or Adagio for Strings in Platoon were more powerful than, say, In Your Eyes.

I don't think the songs from Howard the Duck and The Goonies really "enhanced the action" - they were just amusing songs. The 2001 thing works I suppose. And I suppose in a way the Loggins thing though that's such a bad song I kind of hate to see it on song a list.
