Dunkin' Donuts Coffee?!?!

According to the Consumerist, Stabucks new coffee tastes like Dunkin' Donuts coffee. You mean, like watery ass? Gross.

This lighter roast (clearly a response to widespread complaints about Starbucks's penchant for over-roasting) allows a broader spectrum of flavors and aromatics to emerge, things that can sometimes be burnt away in a darker roast. Starbucks might not like this, but it kind of reminds me of Dunkin' Donuts' house coffee.

The only reason I ever go to Starbucks is because it's the only place that makes coffee that is close to the Brazilian swill I love so much.

Oh, I'm quite sure this new variety will be sold alongside Starbucks' trademark buy-cheapass-beans-burn-the-shit-out-of-'em-and-call-it-"gourmet" it's-not-just-coffee-it's-also-a-paint-stripper brew. No worries.

OMG i posted something on this last night. someone's going through the trash and finding it or i'm never posting again!!!!!!!

(i know, that's probably not a very scary prospect, and probably a lie anyway, but if you aren't at least leaving deleted comments in the trash at least for a few days so that bona fide comments can be recovered on request, consider this my humble request that you do so, because the ratio of lost comments to ones that make it through, at least for me, is becoming a bit of a deterrent.)

Thank goodness.

Moon, I hate to say this, but maybe something is up with your interface? Before I delete, I search the pages for our regulars: you, jacflash, morris, kcb, ryan. So, it may be that we have an itchy trigger finger, but this always happens to you, but I haven't heard the complaint from others.

it's happened from as many as four different computers -- probably three different jobs by now, as well as at least one home computer -- all of which i've posted successfully from with some regularity, so i sort of doubt it.

Well, you know, I used to lose a lot of comments, and I thought my colleagues were being too snappy with the deletions. What I eventually figured out was that I had a tendency sometimes, when I previewed a comment, to click in the place to close the preview window instead of hitting post (because it looked like the comment had already been posted). Again, while I am loathe to suggest that you are doing something, I am really not sure why your comments never show up in the queue but others' do (unless theirs don't and they aren't telling).

You also may or may not recall that some months ago I posted asking regular commenters to register, so that their comments would not have to go through the queue. No one has.

and p.s. I seriously do not have time to deal with this right now, so don't expect much in the near future.

I don't think it has ever happened to me, at least not that I've noticed.

i don't know whether i saw the registration invitation, but if you direct me again i'd be happy to do it. sorry to be a pest -- i've just lost some fun stuff is all, and the comment to this i put up last night was one of the better, and least re-creatable of them all.
