The 60th Primetime Emmy Nominees

Anything grab you here?

I'm particularly pleased about the noms for Recount, Michael Emerson, NPH, Tom Wilkinson and Laura Linney for Recount, Zeljko Ivanek (haven't seen the show, but have been a fan for years), Alec Baldwin, and Amy Poehler.

Woohoo for Kristen Chenoweth and Pushing Daises!

I haven't watched any of the other nominees, but I'd like to see Glenn Close win best actress for her turn in Damages.

And a propos, before the nominations were out I had thought of her as a worthy possibility for your best TV villains list, although as many twists as that show relies on, it's possible that, a la Alias, she'll turn out to be a much better person than she seemed to be at the end of the first season. During the season there were suggestions that she wasn't pulling all the strings; and suggestions of regret or uncertainty about the things she'd done. And that made her all the more effective as a villain when, as the season finished up, she gathered herself and returned to form as Cruella Deville, Esq.

Well given my general love for Chenoweth and Close, I'm happy to concur. Love 'em. As to Spader ... hmmm, tend to like him (of course), but not sure how I feel about him in the part. I need to watch more of that show, especially since so many people I know like it so much.

And now I can't get Chenoweth on the season 1 finale of Ugly Betty out of my head - and that's great, b/c she was delightful and hilarious.

So I was going to say "Oh I missed Michael Emerson," but then I saw that armand had already mentioned him - I know, shocker, Armand and I thinking alike. Although personally I almost think he was more a lead last season than supporting...
