Bloodless Coup

Yup, that's me too - don't much like him, but don't much care. And since the job is meaningless unless the president gives the Veep enough rope to hang country (thank you George W. Bush) ... well, I can't say I care too much.

Though there is one truly good thing to come out of it. If Biden does become Vice President Chris Dodd's in line to take over Foreign Relations, and I do like Chris Dodd, so that'd be cool.

Oh, I guess one other thing to say about it is that it probably reflects kind of well on Obama vs. McCain - would McCain have picked a nominee who called him clean and articulate?

Or inadequately experienced for a job, Biden said, does not lend itself to on the job training?

I'm disappointed. After all the silliness, I assumed it would be someone more interesting, or at least someone who had been more supportive of Obama from day one.

I think if you take a step back and look again the pick says a lot about Obama, in a good way.

And hey, Biden's always fun to watch.

And as to other observations about the pick - it would appear to be good for Amtrack and rail, and relatively poor for coal (since Kaine and Schweitzer are so coal friendly).
