McCain: Dangerously Out of Touch on Energy Issues

Why don't people burst out laughing when the Republican nominee for the presidency says stuff like this?

She knows more about energy than probably anyone else in the United States of America

Suuuure she does Sen. McCain. And if that wasn't enough he repeated the nonsense that being in georgraphic proximity to Russia makes one an expert on foreign policy. Hmmm. I live next door to an artist. I guess any day now I'm going to be getting calls from Chelsea galleries wanting to exhibit my work.

John McCain - dangerously out of touch, or a sad, manipulative little man who'll say literally anything if it'll get him into the White House (and show no respect whatsoever for the American people in the process)? Both?

Both. I keep expecting someone to discover the real John McCain locked in a trunk somewhere while this Rove-o-droid imitation McCain stumps.

Maybe Palin can explain why when futures go up, prices at the pump go up in lockstep, while when futures go down, it's explained that pump prices won't fall as rapidly because, you know, the gas at the stations wasn't purchased or refined at the new reduced prices. At risk of stating the obvious, that precise same reasoning doesn't keep gas prices from going up, what -- $0.20 today, before Ike even makes landfall? And I don't know about you, but while the price of crude has fallen 30%, pump prices have fallen no more than 20%, and probably less.

I'm sure the most qualified American to speak on energy issues can tell me what this is all about. Perhaps it has something to do with Georgia not being in NATO? Or the gubernatorial jet? Reform! -- And not blinking!
