So let's review. Every year Joe Torre was managing the team (1996-2007), they made the post-season. This year? No. Torre now manages the Dodgers. Are they likely to make the post-season? They are not in yet, but currently they lead the West. As someone who is traditionally not a fan of the Yankees, I'd just like to take a moment to thank them for, in essence, firing Torre.

Like in "as a kid I ran all the way home from school to watch that one-game playoff in 1978 and I'd still punch Bucky Fucking Dent in the face if I ever had a chance to meet him" not a fan of the Yankees.
Of course, my eight-year-old sons think that the Sox ALWAYS beat the Yankees when it counts. (They think the Patriots almost always win, too.) Talk about a generational difference!
