Richard Just on Gay Marriage

A strong argument. Plus, hey, it's often fun to see someone land a blow on Jeff Rosen - especially when he's defending separate but equal.

Well, Just is obviously a very smart man who's judicial philosophy is much closer to mine than is Rosen's , so its not surprising that I agree with him. But yes, Just's second piece is by far the most interesting and compelling of the four. His argument about those in the 50-64 age cohort is very interesting and logical.

Well Just's hypothesis makes a lot of sense. But I'd also want to see a control for party ID thrown in there too. People in their 40s were young adults in the Reagan years. So they might be more prone to more Republican views, generally (actually I think there's already public opinion data showing that). And opposition to gay marriage would seem to be stronger among Republicans than Democrats.
