If You Are Worried Your Expectations for Milk Might Be Too High ...

Dan Callahan's negative review may bring you back to Earth. From this review, the script sounds like a painful mess.

And no matter how good he may be (Callahan suggests he has next to nothing to do), I'm still annoyed at Brolin's casting. He's way too old. Does Hollywood suddenly lack actors in their late 20's? Who knew?

It can't be any worse than Australia.

Do you usually like Luhrmann movies Mo? That is, is it more that you usually don't like his style (which is distinctive and people tend to have strong feelings about), or is there something more specific to this movie that you find awful?

Good question. I'd have to say that the first time I watched Moulin, I didn't like it. I watched it again, I liked it more. But even though Moulin appeared discombobulated, and manic at times, the varied intensities added an intensity, you never knew what to expect next. By the end of Australia, I not only usually had known what to expect next, but I figured even if I didn't, it wouldn't make that much difference. It was like, dare I say, Pearl Harbor, but aimed at an audience the level of Disney's movie of the week.
