The Mountaineers Slay the Huskies

I went to the WVU/UConn game last night. WVU might not be especially TV friendly (they virtually never pass - honestly, last time I checked they ranked #116 in pass attempts in division 1 football, and there are only 117 teams), but they are a good team. The game was essentially over at halftime with WVU ahead 35-3. By the 4th quarter WVU was playing the fourth string, players that even the uber-fans around me had never heard of. UConn? Can I say anything nice or positive about UConn? No. They looked astoundingly awful.

Hey - everyone knew third QB JR House, the hometown hero who they put in at the very end of the game...Interestingly, he easily complete both of the passes he tried...

And UConn...well, it took them until LATE in the 4th to get positive rushing yards...

Yeah, true, everyone knew House. Actually I find the House worship a little funny. Understandable, but still ... when he completed that first pass you'd have thought the stadium crowd would have just been informed that Bin Laden had been captured - they were soooo thrilled.

Did UConn actually end up with positive rushing yards? I think the stats on the side of the stadium still showed them at -11 rushing yards when the game ended (though if you mean there was a point when they got out of that for a bit during the game - yeah).

ESPN.com says they ended up with whooping +12 at game's end...
