Are 10 Republican Senate Seats in Danger?

It might be a little hard to imagine, but as recent polling shows Senators Smith (OR), Cornyn (TX) and Dole (NC) to be in trouble, it's starting to look possible. In contrast, the Republicans are really only contesting 1 Democratic Senate seat at the moment.

Please, baby, please. Here in TX, Rick Noriega is polling within 4% of Cornyn, which is impressive considering he's a Dem and we like our GOP incumbents here.

It helps that Noriega is an Army National Guardsman who served in Afghanistan and has a strong built-in base among the voters he represents in the Houston area in the state lege.

The thing that is most telling about Cornyn's character is that while he's of age to have served in Vietnam and he trumpets his *dad's* military service in his bio, Cornyn himself has no military experience. Yet he sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee and rubberstamps Bush's requests.

Cornyn is also the cringing soul who said ""“None of your civil liberties matter much after you'’re dead,"” to justify extending the PATRIOT Act. I hope Texas is done with him.
