And the list of reasons to love to hate Florida continues to grow. "[C]hief sponsor, Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Republican of Florida. "

Apparently 13 is too young to be mentally and emotionally prepared to make own's own health care decisions, but is old enough to be mentally and emotionally prepared for childbirth and parenthood.

Posted by: joshua at April 28, 2005 01:49 PM | PERMALINKit's kind of funny, but i had the thought this morning, snoozing and listening to NPR's somnolent prattle regarding this legislation, that the GOP doesn't want Roe overturned at all.
if it were simply overturned, abortion would remain a matter of state prerogative. in that event, they'd have half or more of the states permitting abortion (my guess is far more than polls show; it's states that end up supporting unwanted children in the long run), and droves of women crossing state lines to have them performed in lieu of back-alley abortions in their home states.
these wing nuts won't stop until they've constitutionalized the anti-abortion position.
