One More Reason to Mock the Jersey Kids on Campus

So that RSX that got flipped on Cornell Ave. yesterday - guess where it was registered? Now I should note that it wasn't the car's owner who was driving it, and perhaps the driver wasn't from New Jersey. But it was awfully predictable to see that yellow plate upside-down on the front of today's DA.

So we have a tenured professor mocking students because of where the students' parents chose to live while raising their kids? How disgustingly illiberal of you! :-P

I don't get it. The guy did the right thing, driving into the embankment to avoid sliding into traffic.

I don't mock 'em - but mocking them is a regular past time around these parts. And sure if you read the story you know the driver did the right thing. But if, like lot of people, you just see the picture it's quite possible it'll reinforce a variety of stereotypes about that group - they can't drive, they're reckless, the only come to school here so they can drink and party ... that's what I meant.

't would appear one of us deleted it. Whoopsie!

And yes, you are a good driver. And no doubt Jersey drivers are great at navigating Jersey. But throw Jersey 19 year olds into the hills, little roads, and inclines of our fair state, and the outcome isn't always pretty.
