But I sure as hell wouldn't want one first thing in the morning, even if I were still a smoker (which I have not been in 13 years, just to be clear). Cigarettes go with coffee, not cigars. Blech.

Exactly. And I've smoked a cigar or two in my time, so I am not opposed on principal. However further evidence against this person is that I saw a few half smoked lying in the sand at the water's edge. I'm thinking vacation, amateur. And litterbug.

I appreciate the unsightliness, but would you rather he stick that compostable in a land fill somewhere? It's a hell of a lot better that it end up in the ocean than most things that do.

I'm not making this argument for cigarette butts, to be clear, or at least for filtered cigarette butts. But leaves and, well, leaves, doesn't strike me as the worst thing.
